When the traffic was bad, I cut in and out of lanes, I didnt linger,
then in my rear-view, i caught your eye and gave you the finger.
Later on I got stuck behind some old woman made of ash,
I honked and yelled, and swerved around and almost caused a crash.

I tried to be good this year,
I tried not to shed a single tear,
but I know deep down in my soul
the only thing that I'll be getting for Christmas is coal.

When I was at work, someone came to me for help, I was completely free,
but rather than be kind, acted like a busy little bee.
I watched them struggle and sweat and kept out of sight while I sipped on my tea,
justified it to myself by saying I needed to focus on me

I tried to be good this year,
I tried not to shed a single tear,
but I know deep down in my soul
the only thing that I'll be getting for Christmas is coal.

I left the house a mess out of sheer laziness,
I didn't call my mum when she was feeling glum,
I didn't buy a gift for my friends thirtieth,
all around I just acted like shit.
